FullVolume/Community

Somebody is always up for one more.

Singing on your own is practice. Singing with four other people who also cannot hit the note is the entire point. The Discord is where you find them, where the next build gets announced, and where the game gets argued into better shape.

Right now

The rooms, as they stand.

Not a screenshot. This is the same list of open rooms the game itself puts in front of you when you press MULTIPLAYER, read a few seconds ago.

  • –– rooms open
  • –– people in them
  • –– seats free

The live room list needs scripting turned on. Press MULTIPLAYER in the game and you will get the same list either way.

Why bother

Six reasons, none of them a newsletter.

There is no roadmap for the server, no levels to grind and nothing to buy. It is somewhere to find a duet partner and say what is broken.

Never sing alone

Say the word in #open-rooms and four minutes later there are three of you butchering a Queen song. Ask the bot for /rooms and it posts a board of every open room that keeps itself current while you decide.

Every build, the day it lands

#releases gets the new version with the notes and the download link inside ten minutes of it going out, posted without anybody being asked to remember. #roadmap says what is being built next.

Ask for the song you want

Four forums for charts. Request one nobody has made, show off one you did, get it looked over, and if it is good it goes where everybody can find it. Your thread stays yours instead of scrolling away.

Break it on purpose

#bug-reports and #feature-request are where the game actually changes. Half of what is in it now started as somebody posting that something felt wrong, and it is a short list of people, so you get an answer.

Post the run

#media is for the five star nobody witnessed and the clip where the harmony worked. The game takes the screenshot; you only have to be smug about it.

Make it yours

#role-select is three dropdowns: where you got the game, what you play on, and what you are here for. Pick as many as you like, change them whenever, and nobody has to click a tiny reaction on a pinned message.

What is in there

The whole server, on one page.

No hidden lobby you have to earn your way into. This is every channel you can see the moment you arrive.

Start here

  • welcomeThe tour, pinned. Where everything is and who to ask.
  • rulesShort, and the short version is be decent.
  • role-selectThree dropdowns. Pick what you are here for.
  • faqThe questions from this site, answered in there too.

News

  • announcementsRare, and worth reading. Follow it into your own server.
  • releasesEvery new build, with its notes and its installer.
  • roadmapWhat is being worked on, and what is next after it.

Community

  • main-chatAnything. It is not strictly about karaoke.
  • open-roomsWhere you say a room is up and people turn up.
  • mediaClips, scores and screenshots.
  • bumpKeeps the server findable. One click, once every couple of hours.

Feedback and charts

  • bug-reportsA thread per bug, so yours does not get buried.
  • feature-requestIdeas, argued about properly.
  • verified-chartersFinished charts from charters who have been checked.
  • unverified-chartersEverybody else's, and how you become the other kind.

Voice

  • GeneralFor when the game's own voice chat is not where the conversation is.

And the bot

Ten commands, and the useful ones need no permissions at all.

  • /roomsA live board of every open room, updating itself.
  • /downloadThe installer, straight from the latest release.
  • /marketplaceSearch the charts without leaving Discord.
  • /faqAny answer from this site, pulled into the channel.
  • /applyforcharterStart the verified charter application.

Chart a song and get it played.

If you make charts, the server is where they get seen. Post one in the charter forums, and once you have been checked over your work lands in the Marketplace where every copy of the game can find it. There is no fee, no cut and no exclusivity. Somebody singing your chart badly at one in the morning is the whole reward.

Free, like the rest of it. Charts stay yours.

Be decent. Sing badly.

That is most of it. No bigotry, no spam, no arguing about somebody's voice. Keep clips to things you would show your nan, and if somebody is being a problem, say so and it gets dealt with.
